The Golf Des Iles Borromées has a course that takes place in an uncontaminated natural environment at about 500 meters above sea level; well exposed to the sun, it is cool in summer and sunny in winter. Located in an enchanting landscape, the course enjoys an exceptional panorama, from the Ticino plain to the Simplon and Swiss Alps and four pre-Alpine lakes, the Maggiore, that of Varese, Monate and Comabbio.

GOLF DES ILES BORROMEES is open all year round. We are closed on working Mondays in the winter months.

The “Des Iles” course is at about 600 meters, in the Alto Vergante, a plateau above Stresa and Lesa, and from its holes you can enjoy an exceptional panorama: from the green on 9, before returning to the Club-House, you can enjoy the view of the Sempione mountains and the Val Grande; from the starting tee of the 18th hole, on the clearest days, you can see with the naked eye the skyline of the skyscrapers of Milan and four lakes, the Maggiore, that of Varese, Monate and Comabbio, as well as the whole chain of the Alps of the Canton Ticino.

But it is the natural flora that enchants. The birches, between silver and blue, follow the player all the way. Pines, firs and larches mixed with oaks, holm oaks and chestnuts remind us of the height and of being already in the Pre-Alps.

The route is natural and can be clearly seen: its difficulties, gradients and obstacles have not been built on purpose. They’ve been there for ages. The architect Marco Croze has only enhanced or adapted them to a path that entertains and engages at the same time.

In summer, in the torrid July and August, the temperature does not exceed 28 degrees and it is always windy. In winter, the sun warms the holes almost all facing south.

The Lake Maggiore area (together with those of Varese and Orta) is one of the richest in hotels, from five-star to the more modest three-star, but always comfortable.
Access to the field is from a well-signposted private road in the Municipality of Brovello-Carpugnino, in the Alto Vergante, about 2 km from the “Carpugnino” exit on the A26 motorway (no more than 50 minutes from Milan!).
